Scripture Doodle in Sydney!

So excited to have my new friend Cathie sharing with us today about sharing #scripturedoodle on the other side of the world. She has been a blessing to me even if only through instagram and google+ Here she is...

My name is Cathie and I’m from Sydney, Australia. I came across #scripturedoodle through Instagram. I truly feel that God led me to it!
Like so many people, I sometimes struggle to read and remember what I’ve read in the Bible. I worked as a high school art teacher before becoming a Mum to my two boys. I gave #scripturedoodling a go and have really found it such a great way for me (a visual and kinaesthetic learner) to engage with scripture and remember themes and verses.

I recently contacted April to chat about holding a #scripturedoodle workshop on our church camp. I’ve just returned from camp where we had about 25 ladies from 16 to 60s come along, mull over the word and #scripturedoodle-up-a-storm.

Some people knew exactly what they wanted to draw and for others, we read passages and discussed with each other our ideas before getting started – which was a really great process in itself. All the ladies were enthusiastic about the whole workshop and were really encouraged by the diversity of peoples’ different styles and interpretations.

Since our #scripturedoodle workshop I know that a few one-to-one Bible reading pairs at church (part of our womens’ ministry initiative) are planning to use #scripturedoodle in their meetings – I’ve started doing it in my pair, and we have been finding it such a refreshing, fun and challenging way to read the Bible.
I am just so excited to keep drawing from the Word and so thankful to God for being able to share in #scripturedoodle.

So blessed to have Cathie sharing the vision! Follow her on instagram @teawillowtree.

Doodle of the Day: from Andi Allison

Today I get to share a #scripturedoodle from a sweet girl who TRULY has a gift for the art of the doodle. Andi is a new aquaintance of mine met through the fabulous world of social media specifically instagram. As crazy as social media can be I  love it for the days when I get to connect with people like Andi. She is a young artist who loves the Lord and is navigating her way through college trying to decide what she'll do when she graduates, (sounds like me 6 years ago). To sweet girls like Andi I say, go for it! Follow the dream, you have the gifts and the heart to persevere through the journey. If YOU need a little dream stirring I would love to chat! email me: worshipartistministries@gmail.com

This is just one of Andi's fabulous #scripturedoodles from Matthew 5:14. You can follow Andi on instagram: @andiallison

Doodle of the Day: Proverbs 17:17

The other day I woke up with an idea for the sweetest #scripturedoodle to hang in Baby Knight's nursery (arriving this December). We are doing yellow, red and gray as our nursery colors so this doodle idea was perfect. It's also a great and easily understandable truth for kids.  This #scripturedoodle is the first one I have introduced color into, you wouldn't think it would take this long since I am primarily a painter. Yay to new things. I used gouache paint, pen and bristol paper.

Once I did this doodle I thought, I could do a whole series of "kid friendly" scripture doodles with fun illustrations of God's truth tailored for kids, thinking I need to jump on that wagon. So much to do and so many doodles in my brain! I was just telling the Lord, today is one of those days I wish I could just #scripturedoodle all day!

Please enjoy this doodle and show it to your kids! You can purchase a print of this doodle here. If you are interested in having me do a "kid friendly" #scripturedoodle for you email me: worshipartistministries@gmail.com.

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 112:7-8

Today I'm sharing a custom #scripturedoodle that I just finished for a friend of mine. She asked me to doodle this verse because it's been on her heart and she wanted it to be in front of her daily so she could read it and claim it over her life. I was SO honored to do so. That is what God's word is all about, reading it, writing it on our hearts and claiming it for our lives. So blessed to be part of God's work.
You can purchase a print of this original here.

Also, if you're interested in having a custom #scripturedoodle done for you, you can do so in our Etsy shop!

Doodle of the Day: Proverbs 31:25

Today, one of my favorite #scripturedoodles ever from one of the sweetest gals, my friend Emily. I have watched Emily grow into a beautiful woman of God since meeting her 8 years ago. Emily truly has a gift from the Lord in creativity and the arts, and I'm so honored she's shared it with us. Here is her doodle.

My favorite part of this piece is the mixed media and the expression on her face. Be sure to follow Emily on Twitter and Instagram @rademily, to keep up with all her awesome pictures.

A Thank You Doodle: Luke 8:39

Recently Robert and I have been through a short but tough season where we felt very strapped financially. We decided to start praying for God's blessing over our finances, partly because we didn't know what else to do, but also because He tells us to pray. Since we tithe, and His word says he will open the floodgates when we do so in my heart we knew God would make a way for us (Malachi 3:10). So we prayed and budgeted like we never have before and we made it through. The miracle of it all is that since we started praying just a few short weeks ago we have been so blessed financially through my art ministry. God is SO good. I knew He was our provider, but when we were praying for the provision we were more aware of the blessing as it came.

As I lay in bed this morning I was just recounting all of His blessings these past few weeks, and I was overwhelmed with thanks. So I did a thank you doodle for God!

This verse comes from Luke when Jesus healed a man and then told him to go and share all that the Lord had done for him, just after this verse the text reads, "so the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him". That is me today, telling you how much Jesus has done for us. God is so good, and faithful and He answers the prayers of his children. And when He answers our prayers, we give thanks!

By the way, this is a doodle of our sweet house 1445 Bexley!
