Scripture Doodle Family Style

I have been blessed to have the opportunity to lead a few #scripturedoodle workshops and at one I met the lovely Shannon. The other day Shannon shared with me that she has been using #scripturedoodle in her family devotional time. Here she shares about the experience:

I have been truly seeking God about how He thinks I can reach all of my family in a way that will excite them and also minister at the same time. I wanted to do more than just sit around and try to explain a devotional to a 8, 13, and 17 year old. I don't want it to be religious. I want them to love Jesus. So I was in my quiet time and He spoke to my heart and said Scripture Doodle. I would of never thought of that, it was so HIM!  My husband is an artist so He loved the idea. They still talk about how they can't wait for us to do it again. Thank you for responding to him when He came to you with this amazing way to express our personal relationship with him. LOVE IT!!!!

Here are some pictures of their time together. We would love to see yours, send them to worshipartistministries@gmail.com.

#iamHIS Collaboration Update

A few days ago I posted about a new collaboration that we have started that's open for everyone! You can read more about it here. I have got to say, I am just loving it so much! I thought it would be difficult to find scriptures that go together with each word that I picked for the letter, but it has been fun and easy. I have been using the you version app on my phone to search different phrases and I love choosing a verse from the search results. I have been thinking how sweet this will be to come back to these letter doodles on days where I feel like I have no good thing in me.

Here are a few of the #iamHIS doodles:

If you haven't been part of this collaboration, PLEASE join us! post your Doodles and hashtag #iamHIS and #scripturedoodle. Today's letter is E!

Letter of the Day Scripture Doodle

Today we are starting up a "Letter of the Day" #scripturedoodle collaboration to which EVERYONE is invited. Last week one of my best gals Kristin called me to share this spin on #scripturedoodle idea. The back story on Kristin is that she is probably the best 3rd grade teacher there ever was and seriously one of my dearest friends. Being an elementary school teacher she spends lots of time with the Alphabet. Her idea is to take a letter of the Alphabet each day starting at the beginning and with that letter choose three words that God says we are, or that we want to be in Christ, make the words personal to yourself and then search for a scripture that might talk about it. Then do a #scritpuredoodle of those words and letter with the scripture intertwined. Be sure to hashtag #scriputredoodle and #iamHIS so we can follow yours and retweet. Our prayer is that these 26 days will be a time of refreshing and building up our spirits to know that in Christ we are so many good things. Here is Kristin's "A" doodle. I will be posting mine later this morning. Can't wait to see yours!

Doodles of the Day: Worship Week

This week I had the opportunity to lead an art camp for our church's Worship Week. We introduced the kids to #scripturedoodle and they did an awesome job illustrating the verses they were given. Even at a young age it is so sweet to see how the word comes alive in their imagination. The sweetest part is that they are hearing and taking in the TRUTH.

Here are two of my favorites:

Matthew 6:22

Ephesians 6:16

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 13

Today's doodle comes from a lovely acquaintance who I met through some friends at church, Emily Morgan. She is truly a gifted artist and one of the cutest redheads around. I know I've said this before, but one thing I love about this is all of the closet artists that come out of the woodwork using their creativity and gifts to honor God through #scripturedoodle. Emily's work is a great example of this.  I'm just going to be real honest and say I'm pretty sure that every doodle she's ever shared is far more excellent than all of mine together. Thankfully it's not a contest :)

Be sure to follow Emily on Instagram at emily_lynn. Here is her fab #scripturedoodle of Psalm 13

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 145:13

We have a very special to my heart Doodle of the Day today from one of my favorites, Tiffany Pate. Tiffany is a sweet friend of mine who jumped on the #scripturedoodle train right away and has definitely made it her own. I have to shout out for my husband Robert, because he always likes Tiffany's doodles the best.

This is my favorite doodle of Tiffany's as she gave it to me in a season where Robert and I were struggling with infertility and miscarriage. Because of an art series I did I always refer to my future babes as peas...hence the sweet peas in her doodle. The best part about posting this scripture doodle today is that I am in my 15th week of a healthy pregnancy with our first pea here on Earth.

God IS loyal, and faithful and keeps his promises. Our peas are proof! Enjoy Tiffany's work, you can follow her on twitter and instagram @mrstmpate. She is also a champ crochet-er so visit her shop: www.picotdesigns.com

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 133:1

Today's doodle of the day comes from a lovely gal named Megan Johnson. Megan works in the creative communications department at our church, and she is definitely gifted in the area of creativity. I love seeing her doodles when she tweets them. One thing I have grown to love about this whole thing is seeing  how each of us have a different style of doodling. Megan's is one of my favorite styles :). Be sure to follow her on twitter and instagram at: meganjoh

Email us your doodles to worshipartistministries@gmail.com so we can pick yours for the Doodle of the Day.

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 51:13

Today's doodle of the day comes from the fabulous Sarah Hope, a dear friend of mine. When I shared the vision of #scripturedoodle with her she really adopted it as part of her daily time with the Lord. She owns it as a way to dig into the word each day and I LOVE this. She is even teaching a #scripturedoodle bible study class to some sweet kids at the YMCA this summer. This is our absolute heart for #scripturedoodle that you would take the concept and use it to dig deep into God's word and then share it!

Her doodle comes from Psalm 51 and it is awesome!

Doodle of the Day: Psalm 48 Project

So I have slowly been going through the Psalms and have made a stop at Psalm 48 to highlight every verse. The chapter talks about the city of our God, the city of Zion. It sweetly describes the greatness and strength of our God in this place. What I am trying to get my head around is that this is an ACTUAL place. So that is why I am scripture-doodling through the whole chapter. Here is today's verse.

If you missed the verses prior to today here they are, Psalm 48:1-5

We would LOVE to see your doodle of any verses in Psalm 48 highlighting our God in the City of Zion. Email us: worshipartistministries@gmail.com
