A Halloween #scripturedoodle

My first thought when I considered doing a Halloween doodle today was... Is that legal? So many people have strong opinions either way, especially believers. In our home we don't exercise strong opinions either way, we do hand out candy as a chance to bless the kids in our neighborhood, but we don't have any little ones yet and my trick or treating stance may change some day.

That being said as a pondered if it was legal to merge Halloween with a #scripturedoodle I was reminded that God is bigger than all of it. Even thought Halloween is considered a "pagan" holiday, I think that God is a fan of His truth being shared in any way on any day. So I decided to go for it. Share his truth with a jack O' lantern in the background, why not.

The verse fror this #scripturedoodle is Romans 6:23, certainly a scary fate if we do not choose life. Enjoy!

James 1:17 Custom #scripturedoodle

This morning I had the sweet privilege of finishing up a custom #scripturedoodle for a friend. She is having a little girl in December and had asked me to create a picture for her similar to my Psalm 139:13 doodle but by using this verse: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows". I love this verse and I think it could be made into a totally different #scripturedoodle than what I created for Heather...that is what's so awesome about God's word it is applicable in so many different ways. I would love to see a #scripturedoodle of your's on this same verse.  Send them to me here and I'd love to share them on the blog. Here is what I created for Heather:

As this scripture talks about gifts I opted for a spool of ribbon instead of a needle and thread. I was able to keep the same feel as the other image while matching the scripture being used. I'm happy with the final image. I will soon have prints available of this in my shop as well as a blue option for baby boys. Thanks for reading!

Doodle of the Day: 1Samuel 1:27

Recently I've had the privilege to put together a #scripturedoodle themed around adoption for our church nursery. They have decided to bless new families with a print of my work. Most families will receive my Psalm 139:13 Scripture Doodle, but families choosing to adopt their little ones will be given this Scripture Doodle.

I'm so blessed to be part of what God's doing at our church. I chose footprints for this doodle because it's sweet for a boy or a girl, I added the world because adoption is so about caring for God's children everywhere, not just in your home town. What a special calling it is to adopt and what a blessing when God's people say yes to bringing His children into their family.

I've decided that 20% of each sale of this print will be given to support a local adoption community in Charleston called Journey Together Ministries. You can order your print here.

Doodle of the Day: Galatians 6:9

I just finished this custom #scripturedoodle for a friend of mine, and I want to share it with you. This is a familiar verse to many and a good reminder that our labor is not it vain, but God sees it and in His time we will see the harvest of our labor. You can purchase a print of this doodle in our shop.
